We're sorry. The puns. We couldn't help it. They were horrendous. We know. It won't happen again. Please accept our apologies.

Once we got into Luang Prabang, from Vang Vieng, we immediately googled to see if the road we had just taken was on the top 20 most dangerous roads. It isn't but, it definitely should be or, it's number 21! The photo was taken by Craig, sat in the front seat of the minivan, at the top of one of the many mountains we drove up and back down the other side of over 5 hours. The road changed from tarmac, to unsealed road, to sand with the sand prevailing on some of the trickier ascents. The road also had no barriers and no real margin for error because it was so narrow and, if we went over, we would be falling for a while!
An early alarm and we were first in the cafe for breakfast before we checked out and headed to get our bus to Vang Vieng. Arriving at Sout Chai office we were hopeful that the number of minivans parked outside meant we would have a more comfortable journey however this was not the case. We were directed to the main road where the usual massive bus was parked up. It's seats were again not made for people as tall or as broad as Craig we were able to grab the back row, like the cool kids at school, and settled in for a bumpy 5 hours! We have recently been discussing that we would like to go back to Disney World on holiday however it would appear this won't be required as our bus journey was a bit like riding Thunder Mountain, repeatedly, for 5 hours. 0/10. Would not recommend.
Ladies and gentlemen. We would like to start this blog post by announcing our intent to apply for 2 new Guinness World Record attempts. One for the earliest arrival at an airport and the other for the longest wait time for an hour and half flight with only a 45 minute delay! To explain, the hotel check out was midday but the free shuttle to the airport was at 11:30, so we arrived at the airport at 11:31 for our 17:30 flight to Vientiane, Laos (pronounced Lao, like cow!). It was a long hang on made worse by both the eerie amount of cancelled flights from the airport (mostly to China) and the fact our check in desk didn't open until 15:30! Phnom Penh airport is nice however, we would not recommend spending much time land side! We can however, recommend Vietnam airlines! They are very spacious, lovely staff and a free bottle of water! Although they did take the long way round from Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) to Hanoi by going via Phnom Penh and Vientiane! We finally got to the hostel, Sailomyen Cafe & Hostel, at 20:45, and after a quick bite to eat in one of the only open restaurants, The Galleria Coffee & Bar (where we ate pasta with chopsticks), we headed to our very comfortable, non smoke smelling bed!
