Tuesday the 16th of July 2019, the day the we had been planning for well over a year and we were definitely ready to get going. So rucksack's packed (Katy 11.4kg and Craig 10.3kg) we checked in at Glasgow airport, said goodbye to our parents, and made our way down gate 27C to Icelandair Flight FI431 to Reykjavic. We enjoyed the efficient service and we also managed to luck out as we had a spare seat beside us so got to spread ourselves out! Arriving into Keflavik ahead of schedule we seamlessly made our way to our bus connection that would take us into Reykjavik when the heavens opened (it was ‘stoating' down), so much for taking in some of the scenery as we drove into the city. Safely dropped just outside of our hotel we managed to get slightly soggy from the 100m walk along the road but we were here, the Icelandair Marina hotel. This was a lovely modern hotel with Katy stating she ‘didn’t feel cool enough to stay here’ although it should be noted she was allowed to stay.
